Scotland’s premier environmental film festival returns 13-15 September 2024 to The Montrose Playhouse with an exciting selection of films that inspire and engage audiences with our beautiful planet. Over three packed days, the festival promises to captivate attendees with outstanding feature films and shorts, filmmaker Q&As, dynamic discussions, and family-friendly events. This year's lineup includes 22 remarkable films, including World Premieres, Emmy Award-winning filmmaking teams, and Oscar nominees. Themes at this year's festival include: Coastal Erosion, People & Animals, Land Ownership, Women Leaders and Artists & the Environment. Happy Pride! This month is all about celebrating love and inclusivity, and what better way to do that than by exploring the symbolism behind the Pride flag? While all the colours carry profound meanings, one connects our celebration of love with our respect for the environment: green.

Plans are well underway for the festival in September, with many ways for our community to get involved. At Fest HQ, we're currently reviewing the 130+ films that were submitted for the festival this year from all over the world, highlighting the urgency of having a platform in Scotland to share these important stories.

We are excited to announce that applications are now open for stall spaces at the LandxSea Eco Fair 2024! This event is a highlight of the Montrose LandxSea Film Fest, taking place outdoors on The Mall outside The Montrose Playhouse on Saturday, 14th September from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

LandxSea is excited to announce the North Light Award for Best Scottish Environmental Film at the Montrose LandxSea Film Fest 2024. The North Light Award celebrates the best in independent filmmaking in Scotland, honouring innovative storytelling and fresh perspectives on environmental issues.
