Montrose LandxSea Film Fest announces the complete line-up for the 2nd edition of the festival, which runs 13-15 September 2024, with an exciting three days of inspiring films and thought-provoking conversations designed to spark a deeper connection with our planet.
The past year has brought a wave of climate devastation globally and locally, and it is more important than ever to inspire climate action in accessible ways. Scotland’s premier environmental film festival returns with 22 thought-provoking films, Q&As, panel discussions, and events which highlight the most pressing environmental issues and foster a deeper connection with our planet, encouraging meaningful conversations and actions towards a sustainable future.
Themes presented at this year’s festival include: Coastal Erosion, a topic at the forefront of the local and national community; People & Animals, showcasing the unique relationship between humans and our wild counterparts;. Land Ownership, a hot-button issue across Scotland and the globe; Women Leaders, honouring women mavericks fighting for the better of our planet; and Artists & the Environment, bridging art and science through innovative protagonists championing ecological awareness.
We invite all press – film, media, environmental, and climate – to Montrose to explore these themes and the festival's diverse programme, which includes the introduction of the North Light Award celebrating Scottish environmental filmmaking. Journalists will have the opportunity to engage with filmmakers, festival co-founders Anthony Baxter and Rachel Caplan, and experts addressing global and local climate challenges. For further information and media inquiries, please contact our publicist Ruth Marsh at 07824 468 396 or [email protected].
