Join us at Montrose Playhouse for a spectacular cinematic journey beneath the waves, followed by a live discussion and Q&A.
Plunge beneath the waves through the eyes of diver and underwater cameraman Peter van Rodijnen. From the wild blue waters around the Scottish islands to the shallow delta of the Low Countries and up along the dramatic coastline of the Norwegian fjords, North Sea, Nature Untamed is a cinematic adventure and a voyage of discovery that reveals the North Sea in all its glory.
Full of drama, beauty and remarkable marine life, North Sea, Nature Untamed also explores one of the busiest and most intensively used seas in the world — creating a rich starting point for learning about habitats, biodiversity and the future of our shared waters.

🎧 This screening will use the new English-dubbed version of the film, created especially for younger audiences and schools.

Who Can Attend?
The screening is open to primary and secondary schools, colleges, youth groups and home-educating families from Montrose and across Angus.
Film is a wonderfully inclusive and cross-curricular learning tool. This screening can support classroom conversations about marine habitats, biodiversity, environmental change, geography, climate, storytelling and our relationship with the natural world.

Please submit one booking form for each group you would like to bring. Places are limited, and your booking is not confirmed until you receive an email from the LandxSea team.
Pupils and students must remain under the supervision of accompanying school or group staff throughout the visit.

3. Filmmaking for Beginners: Creative Workshops for Schools
LandxSea runs practical, beginner-friendly filmmaking workshops for children and young people at the festival, in community spaces and in local primary schools.
Our activities include Introduction to Animation workshops, where pupils explore simple animation techniques and discover how to bring their own stories and ideas to life. Workshops can be offered as standalone creative sessions or connected to films and environmental themes in the LandxSea programme.
Led by qualified and experienced film educators, sessions are inclusive, hands-on and adaptable for different ages and classroom topics. Film is a wonderfully cross-curricular activity, building creativity, confidence, communication and teamwork while opening up conversations about nature, place and sustainability.

4. Youth Voices at LandxSea
Young people’s voices and ideas are an important part of LandxSea.
We create opportunities for young people to take part in festival conversations, panels and workshops, share their perspectives, and explore how stories and creativity can inspire environmental action.
