LandxSea is for everyone.
We’re building a festival that welcomes you — whatever your age, background, or access needs. We know we’re still learning, and we’re committed to growing with care.
Whether you’re joining us for one screening or the whole weekend, we want your LandxSea experience to be easy and welcoming.
Below is what we currently offer, and what we’re working toward.
Accessible Programme Guide
A clear, easy-to-read version of the Montrose LandxSea Festival programme, designed for screen readers, low-vision users, and anyone who prefers simplified formatting, with large text, clear headings, and plain language. Available in HTML, PDF, Word, RTF, TXT, ODT, and EPUB formats.
- Accessible Programme Guide – Web Page / HTML (best for screen readers and browser zoom)
- Accessible Programme Guide – Word Document (.docx) (editable version for personal formatting)
- Accessible Programme Guide – PDF (tagged PDF for screen readers)
- Accessible Programme Guide – Rich Text File (.rtf) (compatible with most devices and word processors)
- Accessible Programme Guide – Plain Text (.txt) (no formatting, maximum compatibility)
- Accessible Programme Guide – OpenDocument (.odt) (open standard, works with LibreOffice, OpenOffice, and Google Docs)
- Accessible Programme Guide – E-book (.epub) (ideal for e-readers and apps with font/contrast controls)

Captioned Screenings & Relaxed Events
Some films will include captions for d/Deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences, and many international films are subtitled. These will be clearly marked on our website and box office listings.
Live captioning (CART—Communication Access Realtime Translation) is provided for the film introductions, post‑film Q&As, and 'in conversation' events. A trained captioner produces real‑time text on screen. If you’d like reserved seating with an optimal sightline, please tell front‑of‑house on arrival.
Hearing loops are available - please ask at the box office.
We’re also planning a relaxed screening designed for autistic and neurodivergent audiences, and for anyone who prefers a gentler cinema experience.

Quiet Spaces & Friendly Faces
Festivals can be overwhelming, and that’s okay. Our team and volunteers are here to help. If you need a quiet space to decompress or someone to talk to, just ask.
Free Community Tickets
We believe cinema should be for everyone. If cost is a barrier, free tickets are available — no questions asked. Just choose the option online, call us, or speak to the box office.
We also offer free entry to carers and essential companions.
Families and Young People
From family-friendly films to our Schools Programme, we’re here for curious minds of all ages. All young people aged 18 and under can attend the festival's film screenings free of charge (may exclude some special family events, like the Enchanted Cinema).
Older Audiences
We provide accessible materials and signage to help everyone navigate the festival with ease.
We can assist and arrange special, accompanied collections for people with mobility issues. Please contact the box office by calling 07395 071 636 or email [email protected].
