Join swim coach Jacqui Cousins from Blue Sky Swim Studio in Laurencekirk for an inspiring after-hours gathering for local swimmers, dookers and anyone tempted by open water. Jacqui will share her experience of swimming in the north east’s lochs, rivers and sea, with practical advice to help you swim safely and confidently.

Jacqui will cover:

• Cold water management

• What to wear

• Where to swim locally

• How to assess risk before getting in

• How to stay safe in the water

• How open-water coaching can help build confidence in the water

There will be plenty of time for questions, conversation and connecting with other local swimmers, followed by a sneak preview of trailers from the swim-themed films screening at LandxSea Film Fest 2026, taking place 11–13 September.

Whether you’re a seasoned dooker, a nervous first-timer, or just tempted to dip a toe in, this is the perfect warm-up for the festival weekend.
