Meet Angus-based director Byron Pace, in conversation with journalist Davy Shanks at our November LandxSea Monthly screening.

In 2019, in a groundbreaking operation, Wildlife Vets Namibia partnered with Parc de la Vallée de la N'Sele and Mount Etjo to relocate an elephant family from Namibia to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This fascinating, emotional journey - portrayed with raw grit and unflinching honesty, is documented in Angus-based filmmaker Byron Pace's PAID IN BLOOD - our November LandxSea Monthly screening.

As Mount Etjo's elephant population becomes threatened by severe drought conditions, and with no local reserves able to take the herd - the team embarked on the arduous translocation of an entire elephant family including the matriarch, across land and sea to the safety and thriving lush wilderness of the Congo, DRC.

The arduous six-day voyage, large and complex, comes with immense physical and emotional challenges, beautifully captured by Byron in this film. We follow the journey alongside renowned conservationist and "rhino whisperer" Annette Oelofse, and the family legacy of wildlife conservation she has made it her life long mission to uphold.

Join us for this special screening of Paid in Blood followed by a Q&A with Byron Pace hosted by journalist and lecturer David Shanks of Robert Gordon University

71,000 pink-footed geese recorded in Montrose Basin!

Our friends at Scottish Wildlife Trust-Montrose Basin Visitor Centre shared this impressive goose count on 10 October (the highest count since 2021) coinciding with their first ever Goosefest - a community celebration of the pink-footed geese migration through the basin.

There were guided nature walks, ask-the-ranger sessions, colouring-in activities, Pink-Feet Friday, and a Sea Change climate workshop with Montrose embedded artist Eve Mosher - to name just a few activities!

We love these impressive photos shared by the team on Facebook.
