LandxSea Film Festival Returns to Montrose 12-14 September 2025
The LandxSea Film Festival is back for three inspiring days of cinema and community! This year's programme features 22 new films from around the world including 7 Scottish premieres and 1 World premiere, plus Q&As with filmmakers, panel discussions, and events exploring our relationship with the planet.
Highlights include the Scottish premiere of Lost For Words (inspired by Jackie Morris and Robert Macfarlane's beloved book The Lost Words), the centrepiece Scottish premiere Lowland Kids (following America's first climate refugees), and the closing night film, the Scottish premiere of Yanuni (an Indigenous-led eco-doc produced by Leonardo DiCaprio).
This year's theme Creative Ground: Artists Respond to the Climate celebrates artists as truth-tellers and change-makers. Enjoy conversations with screenwriter David Macpherson (The Rig), artist and author Amanda Thomson (Belonging: A Scots Dictionary of Nature), a climate workshop led by Montrose’s own embedded Sea Change artist Eve Mosher, and over 30 filmmakers, musicians, and creatives from Scotland… and around the world!
