Create colourful flower and leaf-printed bunting to help decorate Montrose Playhouse for LandxSea Film Festival 2026.

Suitable for age 3+, drop in for a free, hands-on workshop exploring hapa zome, the beautiful Japanese technique of transferring natural colours and shapes from flowers and leaves onto fabric.

Children will work with their accompanying adults at creative stations, using mallets to gently tap flowers and leaves onto cotton and see the magic of natural dyes unfurl. The fabric can then be decorated and embellished using textile markers.

The finished bunting will be displayed at Montrose Playhouse during LandxSea Film Festival, 11–13 September 2026. After the festival, participants will be able to take their pieces home.

Free drop-in event. Open to children aged 3+ with an accompanying adult.

Workshop time: 10:00am–12:00pm

This activity involves using mallets. Children must be closely supervised by a parent or responsible adult.
