Suitable for ages 10–16, this hands-on workshop invites young people to create a brand new piece of music inspired by film with Scottish musician and songwriter Adam Ross.

Participants will watch a short stop-motion animated film from the upcoming LandxSea Film Fest 2026, taking place 11–13 September, then use it as inspiration to compose and record their own original musical score. Instruments will be available to try out, including synthesisers, keyboards and percussion.

The finished soundtrack will be recorded on the day and sent to all participants.

The workshop experience will also be documented in a short film (with participants featured only with permission).

Musical experience is encouraged but not essential, and participants are welcome to bring their own instruments.

About Adam Ross

Adam Ross is a Scottish songwriter and musician. As a solo artist, he released his third album in 2026, and he has performed regularly across the UK. He has also led the band Randolph’s Leap for more than a decade.

Alongside his work as a performer, Adam is an educator specialising in songwriting workshops for young people.

We want our PoP Shop workshops to be affordable, welcoming, and open to as many people as possible. Every place is subsidised through donations and festival fundraising, and your £5 ticket helps us cover the real costs of running the session, including the tutor, space, and materials.

Spaces are very limited, with most workshops only able to welcome 10–20 people. Please only book if you are confident you can attend. If something changes, let us know as soon as possible so we can pass your place on.
