LandxSea Monthly presents Super Nature, followed by a live Q&A with director Ed Sayers.
A love letter to nature filmed exclusively on Super 8, Ed Sayers’ debut feature proposes a new way of seeing the world around us.
Wanting to make a film about nature that didn’t cost the Earth — literally or figuratively — Sayers sent 80 vintage Super 8 cameras to 40 people across 25 countries. He asked them to film the wild places closest to their hearts: on land, beneath the sea and in the air.
The result is Super Nature: a poetic and deeply personal portrait of life on Earth. This mosaic of images and voices brings together different languages, landscapes and perspectives, all captured through the intimacy of the home-movie format.
Shot by professional filmmakers and local enthusiasts, and accompanied by music from around the world, the film offers a gentle, beguiling perspective on one of the most pressing subjects of our time.
Super Nature is both a celebration of everything we have and a quiet reckoning with all we stand to lose.
🎤 Director Q&A: We’re delighted to welcome Ed Sayers to Montrose Playhouse for a live 25-minute conversation following the screening.
