Come and experience the joy of singing together in Songs of the Land and Sea, a warm and welcoming workshop led by singer, harpist and choir director Irene Watt.
Irene believes everyone can sing, and this friendly session is designed to help people find confidence, connection and enjoyment through shared voice.
Together, participants will learn songs inspired by land, sea and community, discovering how singing can connect us to each other, to place, and to the natural world around us.
No previous singing experience is needed — just come along, join in and enjoy singing together.
Workshop time: 9:30am–12:15pm
🎤 Optional informal performance. Participants who wish to are invited to join a short performance at the end of the workshop to help welcome visiting international filmmakers to Montrose and to the festival.
Workshop Leader
Irene Watt
Singer, harpist, songwriter and choir director
Irene Watt is a celebrated harpist, singer-songwriter and workshop leader. She has toured extensively in the USA and Europe, and appears regularly on Fiona Kennedy’s Kitchen Concerts. Irene is also an award-winning choir director and is Music Director of three choirs: The Mearns Singers, The Deveron Singers and The Bridges Choir in Aberdeen.
